Travel Information
There are many very good sites to help you plan and prepare for your
Destination Cycling visit to Europe. Many of our guests extend their
visit to take in a broader
view of Europe. Here are some good sites to get you going:
US government guide to international travel. Includes details on documentation,
embassy locations in all countries, travel alerts, etc.:
http://travel.state.gov/travel/cis_pa_tw/cis/cis_1116.html
A comprehensive resource (in English language) to traveling in France. Maps,
weather reports, banking, food, hotels, culture, etc. A cool feature is the on-line
French lessons with over 250 expressions that includes audio of the French expressions:
http://www.francekeys.com/english/index.shtml
The official Italian government guide to traveling in Italy (in English language).
All you need to know including maps, travel help, accommodation guides, culture,
etc. Currently the site features a good section on "Italy by bike":

Rail travel in Europe is to be greatly recommended. The trains are frequent,
punctual, clean and some (like the French TGV) extremely fast. Eurail is one
company that offers package deals that allow you to travel all over Europe at
economical rates. Most trains are 'bike friendly' but be careful of special considerations
for taking your bike on the high speed ("bullet") trains. Storage space
is limited and bikes need to be appropriately packed (see local regulations):

There are many sites offering currency conversion calculators. Try this one:

Official web site of the La Gazzetta dello Sport. At the time of writing the
2005 route had not been announced. We assume that this English language version
of the site will shortly be updated with the 2005 details:
