Destination Cycling is currently putting together the details for this trip and the rest of our 2008 calendar. Read the description of this year's event below and check back or call for details of next year's trip.
Twenty CEOs will have the chance of a lifetime in July, 2007, riding actual race stages in the French Alps, competing against each other on cycling's most famous hill climb, and watching the world’s greatest cycling race live as it travels through the French Alps!
CEO Challenges and Destination Cycling are pleased to announce the CEO Cycling Challenge that will be held July 13-18, 2007 in the heart of the Haute Savoie. The all-inclusive trip is 6 days / 5 nights and includes the chance to ride some of the most famous roads in the world of cycling with full support from a team of bike mechanics, soigneurs, therapists, support staff, and nutritionists (just like the Pros).
“This is the ultimate cycling trip for CEOs,” stated Ted Kennedy of CEO Challenges. “The team from Destination Cycling has anticipated every need of the rider, and has booked rooms at two of the nicest resorts in the most beautiful region of France. It will be a tremendous opportunity for CEOs to get to know each other while really understanding what it must be like to ride cycling's biggest race. And, since business is never far from the minds of CEOs, we have included ample time for networking and a roundtable business discussion to give them the opportunity to discover common issues and explore business solutions as a group.”
“Similar to all our CEO Challenge events worldwide,” continued Kennedy, “by participating in the event the CEOs will be raising money for well a deserving charity - the Challenged Athletes Foundation. Our goal at this event is to donate $5,000 on behalf of the CEOs to allow athletes with disabilities the opportunity to compete in their favourite sports.”
In 2005, Destination Cycling operated the epic Destination Challenge ride for Kevin Mahaney, President and CEO of The Olympia Companies. Kevin, a former U.S. Olympian and cancer survivor, rode all 21 stages and 3,608 kilometers of the route and raised over $60,000 for the Tyler Hamilton and Lance Armstrong Foundations. Destination Cycling organized the staff and logistics for Kevin's ride as a true professional cycling team. “Every other company I approached was afraid to commit to the challenges involved in running such a tour. I chose Destination Cycling because of its knowledge, contacts, and capabilities with organizing European performance cycling tours,” explained Kevin.
“We are looking forward to partnering with CEO Challenges to expand the Challenge concept to CEOs seeking to ride the route like the professionals,” stated Joe Tonon, Co-Founder and Director of Destination Cycling.
